I’m Fabio Souto, and I run obcecado.com and sell Phonkyo kits as a one-person hobby, from Portugal. This page explains what personal data that involves. For any question about it, or to use any of the rights below, email phonkyo@obcecado.com.
Visiting the site
- No cookies, no analytics, no tracking. Nothing on the site identifies you or follows you around.
- Nothing loads from other companies. Fonts, images and scripts all come from obcecado.com itself. Links to other sites only take you there if you click them.
- The light and dark switch remembers your choice in your own browser (local storage), and only after you use it. It never leaves your device.
- Hosting. The site is served by Amazon Web Services (CloudFront and S3). Like any web server, it sees your IP address to send you the page, but request logs are switched off, so no record of your visit is kept.
Ordering and emailing
Orders happen by email. When you write to phonkyo@obcecado.com, I get what you put in the message: usually your name, email address, shipping address and country, the kit you want, and your receiver model.
- Why: to answer you, to sell and ship your kit, and to handle anything that comes up afterwards, such as a return or a warranty claim. The legal basis is taking steps towards, and carrying out, a contract with you. If you only ask a question, the basis is my legitimate interest in answering it. Keeping records of sales is a legal obligation.
- Who else sees it:
- Amazon Web Services receives mail for obcecado.com (in Ireland) and keeps a raw copy for 90 days, after which it is deleted automatically.
- Google hosts the mailbox I read it in (Gmail). Google may process data outside the EU, under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
- The postal or courier service gets your name and address to deliver the kit.
- If you pay with PayPal, PayPal processes the payment under its own privacy policy, and I see your name, email address and the amount. If you pay by bank transfer, your bank and mine see the transfer, including your name and account details.
- How long: I keep order emails for as long as the order and any follow-up need them. Records of sales, which include your name and what you bought, are kept for as long as Portuguese tax law requires, currently 10 years. Questions that don’t lead to an order are deleted within a year.
- Nothing else. I don’t sell your data, send newsletters or use it for marketing.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you can ask me for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how I use it, or to get it in a portable form. Email phonkyo@obcecado.com and I’ll reply within a month. You can also complain to a data protection authority: in Portugal that’s the CNPD, or you can go to the one in your own country.
Changes
If this changes, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
